My 08 528i with new tires on the stock 17's seems to wander all over the lane when I'm on the highway. The tires are at 36 & 38 psi, frt & Rr respectively and this happens on smooth or rough surfaces. It acts as if the car is being moved around by wind, even though it isn't windy...

The dealer I bought it at is 200 miles away, so I got a lifetime alignment at Firestone today. It was .09 out in frt rt toe and the overall toe was out .1 in the rear. When the tires were cold I set the pressure to 32 and 36 psi.
Honestly, it still seems to wander around the lane just as if it was windy...
When the tires cool down again I will bump the pressure up a little...

Hopefully the Firestone guy knows how to check for bad suspension components, I would not bet on it though. Some of these guys just know to do what the computer tells them. What tires did you buy can you swap with someone with a different brand for a test drive?
what did the tech say?

Are the new tires the same as you took off?
I have had tires in the past that seemed to wonder on me and it was the tires themselves. Nothing wrong with them just the tread pattern and the way they ride.

I bought this car a month ago. The BMW dealer installed the tires during the CPO process prior to my purchase. The tires are Bridgestone non-runflats. The tech said that the car looked like new and that nothing appeared to have any damage or wear. I'm sure the tech just followed the computer for the alignment though, what else can they do unless they are truly a BMW expert. No false pretenses here...
