That's no fun. But it sounds like you will have a perfect M Kit when redone, and it's always good to work with a dealer who is on the ball.
Once you have the 550i back and have it fully broken-in you won't remember this delay much.
How is the 330?

Actually I have had a 325i and a 325xi so far. they both are ok and very nimble but make me appreciate my 550 even more. Neither car had idrive or nav so they seem boring. The 325i did have power seats but no center bolster contrul so the seat was very uncomfortable with no adjustment. The seat sort of stuck out in the center of my back. What a problem if an E 90 buyer purchased this car with these seats.

Thanks for the heads up. I pick mine up next week. It is coming out of the Oxnard, CA VPC. I will be extra observant when inspecting the car.
You know, when I was deciding to definately get the Aero Bumper the next issue was where to have it done. I didn't realize that my dealership has one of the few BMW approved paint shops in my area. I fugured that the port does these aero kits all the time and shoud be the experts on installing them. Well, it seems that installation work and paint work are two separate issues. I would have thought that the VPC's are also BMW approved paint facilities but with the work quality I have seen from the VPC, if they are BMW approved than anyone can be a BMW approved paint shop. My car never should have made it out of final inspection and shipped. It took my car 3.5 weeks to get thru the VPC and that should be plenty of time to get a paint job right. But at least my dealer is following through correctly and making sure it gets done right.

Wow; Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I had the aero kit installed but from the west coast VPC. I can say that I checked the paint over carefully when I took delivery. It looks flawless. I was concerned with dust under the paint. No anomalies were found. Looks like the NJ VPC needs to improve their quality control. Glad to hear the dealer is taking care of you and getting the paint done correctly.

Yes Knauz. I have been real happy with them.
Knuaz's body shop does great paint work and does a great job on color match. They also use Standox paint which is top notch. You will be pleased with the results. If not, they will make it right. I have been unfortunate endough to have the do work on both my current vehicles.

Well I am supposed to get my car back today, Monday, after I dropped it off last Monday. I had the clear bra done last wednesday and the paint mgr. said it was the best one he ever saw so far. All the paint shop has done in my knowledge is buff the anomalies in the claer coat down and perfected the finish. I just wonder whether I will have any clear coat left by the time they are done.

My Aero kit is flawless. In fact, I've examined it several times and am impressed with the quality of the finish. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience.
