Just curious...no problem using voice commands in the car for my phone (it works great)...but I can't get it to recognize any commands within idrive...I looked in the manual and it said I should be able to say "main menu" and then verbally navigate my way to "entertainment" but no such luck...should the voice commands be working? Am I missing something here?

do you have nav? it might be why...not sure.

Voice Command only works with cars that have NAV. I dont have NAV and yes voice command works with Blue Tooth phones but not iDrive.

So if you dont have NAV then its normal.

Seems strange though that I can tell my car what number to dial but I can't get it to navigate the iDrive menu...oh well

Ya I know! annoying... And they didnt adverstise that with NAV you get Voice Command... If I knew all the extras that would come with NAV it might have influenced my decision... Only found out after the car was built.

The extended voice control option, button located next to the menu button, is only available with sat nav pro. The steering wheel voice button is purely for bluetooth.
