Hi everybody,

I was just wondering, is the Vmax limitation for any E60 (or just generally) US model? Is it exactly the same as for European models, 250 km/h (for those manufacturers that do it)? And, what about the cars which come unlimited in Europe (Porsche)?

Also, however it may be, same with US cars? Any law or something for this? Regualtion by federal law/state/county?

Is there not a highway, Missouri or I forgot where, where actually there is also no speed limit? Or this one, but its not being forced? There was something tue this, I remember that for sure.

Please help me out here, really nothing important but it would interest me.

just an agreement by most german car manufacturers to keep the green party happy back in 1980something... Porsche never adheared to this and thats why they have no speed limiter...

vmax is in place for any e60 anywhere in the world, assuming it can go over 250km/h /// 156mp/h

All BMW's are limited to 250 km/h, also the US models.

But many re-programs their cars...

You're thinking about Montana. For a few years prior to 1999, they had a daytime speed limit on some roads of "Reasonable & Prudent". I remember being on vacation traveling in my Nissan Quest mini van visiting some parks. There are not many people in Montanta. But, in May 1999, they changed the limits such that the maximum you will see for cars is 75 MPH during the day.

Thanks,
Tom
