Strange question but why does my 04 530i heat up the rear seats while driving for a prolonged amount of time?? I don't have heated or cooled seats so its really baffling to me plus my passengers dont like it much either lol
can anyone help me? or have heard of such a problem before?

Get under the car and check the exaust system.... Exaust system rides below the drive shaft. The fuel cells are outboard, left & right of center tunnel. In essence the left & right passengers are above the fuel cells and the center rear passenger is sitting on the drive shaft.

The temp was about 85 F and it was also night time. Do you think the outside temp has something to do with it??
Thanks for your reply! I really hope I can get this issue figured out!
Do you think its possible that my drive shaft could be rubbing against something? Maybe the continuous friction is generating the heat? What would cause the fuel cells to generate heat? Thanks for your reply! I really hope I can get this issue figured out!

Pull up the rear seat and remove it. You should see 2 circular covers - for the fuel pump and fuel filter. There should be one cover in the center - that is the access panel for accessing/adjusting the parking brake cables. See if that panel itself is missing.
