Here's a list of fixes made to the version 15 update. My dealer said he pulled this information directly from the BMW service bulletins. I plan on getting the update and will also confirm whether or not boot up times improve and if I'm still experiencing iDrive crashes (based on version 13.2 that I have now).
- TCU (Telematics Control Unit) coding fails "CoApi 1000 General Fault" using CIP 13.x.
- Intermittent "crank no-start" condition. Vehicle starts after 15-20 minutes. No faults stored in DME. Vehicles produced 9/04 ? 12/04 with N62.
- Vehicles equipped with automatic 6HP26, loss of power decelerating to a stop and making a turn. Vehicles produced 9/03 ? 12/04.
- After vehicle has been programmed with CIP 13.x, the customer complains of altered shifting characteristics of the automatic transmission. Earlier up shifts, delayed downshifts when accelerating. 530i w/ ZF 6HP19 transmission produced 9/03 ? 7/04.
- CCC (Car Communication Computer) equipped vehicles; after the doors are unlocked the audio system switches on and begins playing suddenly.
- TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) false check control message in CID (Central Information Display). Vehicle produced from 3/04 to 12/04 only. Recode entire vehicle.
- CCC equipped vehicles, error in track display on vehicle with CDC. For example when Track 1 is displayed Track 2 is playing. This error has occurred since CIP 11.1.
- CCC equipped vehicles: radio or CD remain active after key is turned off. This problem has occurred since the vehicle was programmed with CIP 12.x.

Good stuff Sifford! I never had ver. 13x, but compared to my ver. 11.0, ver. 15 has the iDrive boot GREATLY improved. I personally never had any of the issue you list, but they have certainly been mentioned here. Good luck with your upgrade, hope it goes faster than the four days it took to get mine up and running.

I'm not going to insist on any particular version at this point. My primary reason for the service is to get an oil change and get Sirius installed. While it's there, I'm going to have them do any applicable recalls (emissions, seat heaters, etc.) and if they can, I'll have them activate BT.
If, for some reason, they aren't using version 15 yet, I don't think I'm going to worry about it.
Speaking of seat heaters, I've determined that the iDrive seat heater distribution settings do absolutely nothing. The driver's seat only gets warm on the backrest, no matter how I set it in iDrive and the passenger seat always heats both bottom and backrest, no matter the setting. Is that common with version 12.2 or do I have another problem?

It takes 3 months longer to get the software to your dealer.? I think they are waiting for a box of floppies to be shipped by ocean vessel from the fatherland.? Do they have access to the internet?

IMO this is a mistake. I have had your version 12x, 13.2 and 13.3. So close to the availability of V15 I would definately hold out for it. The V13xs reboot once a week, they are at times painfully unresponsive. Like typing and then seeing the results on the screen 3 or 5 seconds later. They also take an age to boot. I never experienced this in the version I had in July when I took ED.
From what Ks reports V15 is fast, responsive, fixes the audio on problem and is hopefully stable.
I know you are impatient to get your scheduled sat install but you really should insist on V15.
