Sorry in advance, but I just wanted to vent my frustration on a couple of issues which I know have been done to death, but I'm just hoping someone at BMW reads these forums and might do something about it.
Anyway, frustration number 1. That professional sat nav that I purchased as an ?1800 option is sooo slow! But what is really annoying me is that I've just been able to upgrade (again) the built-in sat nav on my Mini (a car that is 12 months older than my e60). The Mini's original sat nav software was much faster and gave better directions that the sat nav in the e60. The updated software improved both the speed and graphics, and the second upgrade I've just installed gives me the 3D perspective view as well. Follow X5world forum and Mini2 forum to see the better sat nav on older cars. Any chance of some e60 upgrades BMW?
And number 2 ... why oh why isn't there an official iPod adaptor yet? The e60 has a screen and a click wheel (okay iDrive) which provide identical in functionality to those on the iPod. It can't be that difficult to intergrate the two, can it? BMW made such a big thing (http://www.ipodyourbmw.com/) of iPod intergration and yet a car that has the perfect interface (screen & iDrive) hasn't got an interface.
Vent over. I feel much better now :-)

Hey, at least the 2007 models now have an AUX in, just like Subarus, Dodges, etc.
I got kind of pissed at a recent articel in Roundel.
They had a multip-page advertising write up about BMWs IPod interface etc., but didn't really address the issue that new cars (i.e., IDrive) cannot do this. They only mentined it on the fly....

Not sure what software version you have but an older update (was it 17 or 18?) added the 3D perspective view to the E60 navigation and made a number of other interface enhancements. If you don't have that a software update should give it to you.

And to make matters worse, I can get a BMW iPod adaptor for the Mini, but not the E60. Arrrggggh.
