Greetings 5ers
I just got a new sapphire black 530x a few days ago and it is very nice compared to my '04 X5. The engine is silky smooth versus the 4.4 in the X5 for example.
But I am having trouble adjusting to iDrive. I have figured out most things but I want to be able to get warm/hot air on the footwell and cold air from the centre vent in the dash. I have the vent fully open in the iDrive screen and I have the graphic of the "driver" fully blue. However, I get from the left vent warm air and from the passenger side I get cold air. Both temp dials are set the same to 21 degrees. It drives me mad having warm air blowing on my face when I want it to be cold.
On my X5 and my wife's X3, the air from left and right (and I am not talking about the vents adjacent to the doors - just the one in the centre of the dash) is the same temperature. Can any of you fellow 5ers let me know please if this is normal or abnormal before I head to the stealer?
I love this car and I am getting rid of the X5. Should have got one ages ago!
Thanks muchly...

Methinks a visit to the friendly stealer is due. It sounds like either a motor is gone or a flap has twisted out of place... on my car air from all face-level vents (middle + sides) is roughly at the same temperature, and it varies with the blue/white/red bars in iDrive.
Last ditch attempt: disconnect the battery for an hour and see if after reconnection the electronics have reset themselves correctly. No guarantees, though
