If pricing hasn't changed, ordering ventilated seats is $2550US MSRP more than ordering the cold weather package:

Seats: $1025
Nasca Leather:$1850
Heated Wheel: $150
Headlight Washers: $375

Total $3300

Cold Weather Package: $750.

At invoice the difference is $2410

For comparison on a 7-series the package including ventilated seats, active seats, and heated rear seats is $1450 or $2350 on a 745i with the comfort seat included.

And in Europe the Nasca leather is the same price as the Dakota leather included with the US Premium Package.

At MB, ventilated seats are $1250 including heated seats, which are $680. The incremental cost is $570.

So is it worth it?

Not unless you live in Arizona or the Arabian Gulf !

I guess you're New Jersey ? I would go for what you want (definately heated seats with leather for winter), the heated steering wheel is also cosy.

I wnet without the head light washers this time and took the extended lights package instead.

I live in the Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia, last week when I was going out for lunch. The temperature in the dash board showed 120F, of course that went down as I turned the car on. But it showed that because it was parked there for a couple of hours. Temperatures here are around 100 ? 115 around noon time.
Anyway I have ventilated seats, it doesn?t make much of a difference if you live in such weather. It might but after a short period of operation, the only difference I noticed that after I leave work at 4 PM the back of my shirt gets soaked with sweat. Ventilated seat do no eliminate that but they sure reduce it.
The best thing I guess for hot weather is to program your climate control for the fans to go on 15 minutes before you get to your car. I noticed a big difference by doing that, the car won?t be as hot when left in the sun.

Good luck man.

I live in Frankfurt, Germany. Our highest temp is about 100?F, but that only for a couple days. Usual summer temp is around 90?F or even less (this year...). I do like the ventilation and for me it is worth the money. My back is never wet when I leave the car, I allways feel very comfortable when driving (I use the ventilation very often).

ULtraPLanet: Ventilated and massage were not available in '04 in the US. Whoever told you that was correct. The reason is that these options requried Nasca leather and Dakota was the only leather the US got. HTH.
