I have been told that BMWNA made a change to their service policy a year or two ago where all service issues other than scheduled maintenance must be approved by BMWNA. This was obviously a change to manage costs. However, it is also obviously having a huge negative impact on customer service which BMWNA would be well advised to take a hard look at this policy.
big ipaq - my SA knew about the SB since I was the one that provided him with it. The issue that pissed me off is that BMWNA would not authorize the dealer to load the updated software since there was no proof that the phone charger was the cause of the problem. NO PROOF...YOU MORONS ARE THE ONES THAT ISSUED A SB ADDRESSING THIS KNOWN DEFECT!!! Sorry, but this whole experience has left me with a very bad taste. I in turn had to call the Service Manager to get appropriate resolution. When I went to pick up a loaner this morning my SA told me that the dealership would probably have to eat the cost. If this is the case then BMWNA has some serious customer service issues.
