All,
I've had my 2008 550i since February this year and have never noticed this... but the book says I'm supposed to have atachometer warning segment via a rotating disk behind the tach that extends downward as far as 4200 rpms and gradually increases the limit as the engine warms up (similar to the mph pointer with cruise cnotrol). I have no such pointer on the tach. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Thanks,
TM

This feature was discontinued on the 2008 (LCI) cars. It's not clear why they removed it and it's not certain whether they can/will add it back in via software in the future...

That explains why I can't find it in the owners manual, but I saw it in the "Fast Facts 2008" book. Would have been nice sonce there's no temp gauge.
