Any one ever open a sticking jamming vanos solenoid and clean and what was their results

 

I had extreme knocking on my 07 530i N52 one day, took my Vanos solenoids out and they were gunked up, used MAF cleaner and it fixed the problem for a while, but it is jumping at idle when I first start it up and when putting it in gear. Might just be worth it to replace
