My Ride: A Car
Default

NEVER DRIVE YOUR SUMMER TIRES BELOW FREEZING!! It's reccommended not to drive them under 45 degrees. One time, it was 50 degrees and I was driving my evolution viii on yokohama advans. EXCELLENT tires in the summer. I usually take the u-shaped turn at 40 mph. car was understeering BAD. The wheel was turned all the way but it just went straight. I had to pop the clutch to second, rev it up, slam the brake with my left foot while flooring the car to swing it around and drift on the entire turn. I almost peed in myself as i couldve went into the wall at 40 mph. TAKE it slow when below 50 is my reccommendation. to be safe, drive on snows whe under 45 and u wouldnt have a problem. why risk it? it's like putting hard plastic on ur wheels. ever play with matchbox and hot wheels cars? it's like rolling in one of those on the ground. summer tires = summer. winter tires = winter.

Scale is 10 BTW for dangerousness to drive on summer tires in winter. Many evos and STi's think they have AWD and their cars can do anything in any weather due to it being a "rally car." Rally cars use tires driveable in mud and snow and all terrains usually. try putting summer tires on a rally. it prolly wouldnt move.
