I have BMW E60 523i with probably a M-ASK type iDrive, and it have USB port and an AUX In the arm rest compartment.
The AUX is working fine, but the USB menu on iDrive is greyed out and cannot be selected.
I check the trunk and only saw two module there, it was the Antenna and Amplifier. Can't find the TUC or MULF2, picture is attached below.
What's seems to be the problem here? Am I missing the TUC or MULF2 module?
I just want the USB on iDrive to be working, that's all.
Any ideas?
Ah, thanks Sir. There was a MULF2 High under it.
Anyway, there is one port on the module that didn't connect to any cable. Is it normal? Picture provided below.
It not responding would be a reason for it to be greyed out but without scanning with ISTA I couldn't tell you. Can't tell if it's water damaged or not. Replacements are real cheap. I'd get one and default code and see what happens.

Glad to hear that it's solved, but how/why? What did you do to resolve it?
Thanks
I use 32gb USB stick and convert the song file to .wav, then the iDrive start reading the USB stick.
Anyway, do u know the best software to scan and cleared some fault code on E60?

ISTA would be the first choice since that's what the dealership uses. Next would be BMW Standard tools. Both can be installed on a windows laptop and use a K/D CAN cable for connection you can buy online
