Is there anybody who can help solve a long running problem i.e. fuel is somehow leaking into my E61(54plate).The only symptoms are:dipstick showing increasing levels of "oil ". Plus low mpg(20 urban,35/37motorway)

In the last 12months two Bosch High pressure fuel injector pumps have been replaced by main Bosch agent;in the last 24 hours Bosch themselves carried out a laboratory analysis confirming the presence of fuel(derv)in the engine.
Injectors have also been investigated by Clywd Injection in Llay nr. Wrexham North Wales;they are working fine with no issues.

I would greatly appreciate any help on this as the car is my crucial to my business.I've owned the car for 2 years and it has been very well looked after.thanks in anticipation.[font="Imp

You are lucky to have caught it, i would get it checked by the dealer immediately before you blow some oil seals and kaput the engine. I read about this happening to a guy local to me, he had a hell of an argument with the dealer about it. The dealer claimed he had put in too much oil which he hadnt it, it turned out that fuel was leaking from the injectors and eventually ending up in the sump. The dealer settled out of court once the oil analysis came back proving there was diesel in the oil, I cant find the article for hte life of me it was on the BMWland forum and the guy was a new E60 owner which was still under warranty.

I am confused if you say the injectors checked out ok, there is nowhere else the fuel would come from.

I'm not a diesel expert. I did once have a Benz 300D long back.

Has anyone checked: injector overflow line, pressure sensor, pressure regulator?

I would think a blocked overflow line could mess things up.

So ,if the injectors are not leaking, the basic fact is that too much diesel is going into the engine, resulting in low mpg and fuel contamination of the sump oil.
A possible cause could be incorrect timing of the injectors. Can you get that checked out by the Bosch experts? Failing that, a BMW dealer should be able to investigate.

Thanks for your reponse. The car is presently being investigated under warranty at the afforementioned specialist injection site.i wiil ensure that the timing of the injectors are checked out first thing tomorrow. The issue of damage to the engine due to fuel contamination is a major concern;especially since this problem hasn't been resolved despite the fact that two HP injection pumps have been fitted over the past year.Would oil seals be the first sign of serious damage to the engine.
In the past few hours a BMW expert suggested that the HP inj.pump seal may be the culprit;apparently the O ring could be damaged when fitted. However it has been fitted by expert mech.engineers that I have confidence in.

Thanks for your prompt response,i will definitely check wether the injector timings were incuded in the inspection this morning. However as I've said before the engineers are injection specialist of long standing.
