You will need to do a search on the style M 166 suggested sizes, as I think they may be slightly different.

You go to your BMW dealer and ask for:

36117834625 (Front, $550 for 2)
36117834626 (Rear, $560 for 2)

Standard tyres are 255/40/19 and 285/35/19 (Continental's) - See below. Or you source non-OEM wheels of debatable quality...

245/35/19 & 275/30/19 are the recommended sizes by BMW (not for 5??xi) for 19" wheels. 255/40/19 & 285/35/19 are the M5 sizes.

I note the M5 wheels have a slightly smaller offset (than stock 19" 172's) so they 'stick out' a bit more. (Front ET12 vs ET18, Rear ET28 vs ET32) - I believe it's probably enough to avoid rubbing...

Your dealer recommended you the right size.

You can lower your suspension, etc to achieve a better look.

They will be the same diameter as your originals. If you change the diameter your speedo and milage no longer will be accurate. But, you may be able to find taller tires that will work except for what I mention. Their sidewall will look, and be, wider.

Uhhhh...soooo what are the correct tire sizes so that the speedo reading will stay the same and the tires won't rub? (for the 166 rims of course)
