Default Updating oil change settings on my 535 I turbo BMW 2008

I recently recently change my oil in my 08 535 I turbo, along with the oil filter. Everything went fine easier than I thought it would be however, when I got in the car and updated my dashboard oil change settings I was able to change or update it, my dashboard said oil was at maximum, later on that evening. My vehicle still stated that my oil was at the minimum. I’m assuming that it’s probably a sensor but I’m not sure anybody have any insight on this issue please

  1. Did you mean you were unable to change it?
  2. By update, did you mean reset the service interval?
  3. Does it show "----"?
