I'm wanting to update my '06 530 nav disk. Anyone know where to get one from a reputable source that's not the BMW stealer??
Thanks.

Why would you not go to the dealer, or stealer as you so politely put it?

I was quoted £230 + vat, but if I gave them my old one, it was £109 all inc.

Speak to your dealer, you may be surprised.

It might work differently in the UK, but here in the US the dealer usually charges super high retail pricing. Good deal for you though.

I had a hard time backing up a friend's disc. Funny thing is, he had two discs instead of one. So as difficult as it was, decided to give ebay a try...after several discs that didn't work someone recommended me to a CL add. Person was in Atlanta. It was a 2010 update with the camera features. Got to me in two days. Trouble finding the add but here's the email i used to send them an email.

Hey plan b, I've used this (gilluley@hotmail.com) guy for my last 3 discs. I think there 25quid a disc. They have speed camera's on and 7 digit post codes also, works a treat.

Just search for "Nav Update". Go to the third page and you will find it.

but BE CAREFUL with these extra function nav dvds, such add 7 digits search ones, because i bought mine, a very long process to get to the bit where you enter the postcode, and later on realised that i have lost a number of POI's including shopping centres, which i was very interested in, and recently started giving dvd read error and i have to remove it and insert it again, which is annoying because in addition to doing this while driving i have to set the navigation destination once again after i insert it !

just be careful, and i the one i bought was from http://www.bmw-maps.co.uk/

do i recommend them? read what i've written above and you decide

I've been using mine error free for about 5 months. Came screen printed and all. Not that it matters because it's in the dash but it looks perfect. Good stuff.
