My Ride: Ordered: 530D Touring Silver Gray (A08), Auburn Dakota Leather (LCRK), Maple Wood, Steptronic, Bluetooth, 116 style 17'', Railbars, Sport suspension, Sport stering wheel
I am experiencing a strange behaviour of my automatic gearbox. So far my car (a 530D) has only 4K km but it is happened 4/5 times.
When I am in D mode suddenly I feel more vibrations from the transmission and the gearbox does not want to change gear even if I lift the gas pedal!
The last time I was on a absolutely flat motorway at 120/130 km/h speed and the gearbox was not selecting the 6th gear at all. Moreover when I needed to slightly accelerate it shifted down to 4th gear!
This lasted for 20km then everything was fine and no more vibrations!! I tried to turn off an on the engine like CTRL+ALT+DEL in Windows but it has no effect.
Has anyone experienced the same problem???

I have more or less the same symptoms (gearbow refusing to gear up) but less often: I believe that it is comming from the engine which is requesting higher revolutions in order to increase the exhaust temp. to let the particles filter burn it.

I had mny strange things happening until BMW with ZF upgraded my gearbox software only (takes about 5 minutes) and the box settled down to a great degree.
The version of software has not yet been released in any of the CIP's from BMW and you would need to get ZF involved.
There is a difference between D and DS.
Amongst many other features you will notice that when you lift off the gas, the revs hold up higher much longer than in D where the revs drop as soon as you lift off the gas. This means that if yo hit the gas again the revs will be closer to optimum turbo range than in only D mode.
Good Luck.

yes streak but everything was cool until last visit dealer couse lights problem. They say that they must replaced new modull lights. And i saw that my computer in car was reprogremmedcor reseted. After that D and DS mode are same...SO i dont know what to do now...When i drive like 80 km/h in D mode and CHANGE to DS mode , there is no difference at all...
I think i must again go to dealer.Any opinions??
