If the sub sits in a sealed enclosure and you didn't use the gasket, the air will leak around the joint and the speaker will exceed its XMAX and distort.

Contact BAVsound. They are wonderful with after purchase follow up.

Been in contact with them and have since resolved the issue. 1 woofer had a screw somehow on the magnet causing the distortion, and 1 of the grills came loose.

Everything sounds great now!

I got a chance to hear the bav upgrade speakers, but not these ghost subs. So how do they sound compare to stock?

They sound AMAZING! They are super responsive, even at low volumes. And when you turn it up, you literally feel it in your seat. I could not have been happier with the whole system!

I was torn between the BAVSOUND system and the Rockford Fosgate system, BAV was cheaper and I am super satisfied! Granted, I never got to hear a demo of the Rockford system.
