UK 5 Series Update
Just saw this news from the BMW UK Corporate Site.
From 11 April 2005 the BMW 5 Series Saloon and Touring ranges will receive enhanced standard specification which represents substantial customer value-for-money through the considerable cost savings over single option prices for a marginal overall price increase.
? Now standard on all 5 Series SE models are 17? Alloy Wheels with Run-flat technology which offer increased driver safety by enabling the continuation of a journey for up to 150 miles on one or more tyres suffering from reduced or total loss of pressure.
? Park Distance Control (PDC) front and rear is now standard on all models, providing both acoustic and visual assistance when parking.
? All 5 Series models now feature an Interior mirror with automatic anti-dazzle function.
The table below illustrates the exceptional customer value offered by the standard equipment enhancement when compared against their previous option price.
Models Additional Equipment Value Vehicle Price Increase
523i, 525i, 525d
SE Saloon and Touring ?1,145.00 ?310.00
530i, 530d SE
Saloon and Touring ?610.00 ?130.00
535d / 545i SE
Saloon and Touring ?115.00 ?20.00
All 5 Series SE and
Sport models ?115.00 ?20.00
These specification enhancements represent exceptional customer value when compared against their previous option price and thus strengthen the position of the 5 Series as the "Best-in-class" Executive Saloon and Touring.
All 5 Series Saloon and Touring models will increase in price from 11 April as detailed in the tables below. The calculations also take into account the ?5.00 VED rate increase introduced on 1 April 2005.
