I'm okay with a DSG, I guess.
Does BMW have a DSG?

Good move. I would wait too. The 550i Sport with the aero kit, 19" wheels, tighter suspension, and tuned axhaust are worth it alone. But the biggie is the new sport auto transmission. I'm very interested to find out more about that.
I already negotiated the price of the vehicle spec'd at the 2007 numbers with the ZSP, AS, ZCW, Logic 7, Nav and sunshades. Will they honor the numbers that are on the contract or will they try to adjust the numbers to reflect the new numbers?

I pre ordered my current 545 and the prices increased after the contract and they honored my original numbers.

Just curious on everyone's opinions, since this is a major change.

We can only speculate until they release more information, but it's possible. Also, the standard automatic seems to be directly connected to the engine, which was a characteristic only the manual and SMG had in the past. It will very interesting to see what these two automatics truly turn out to be.

EDIT - found this in the interactive 5 thingy on bmw.com. Might shed some light about the Sport Auto.

Well....The U.S. did indeed get the Orange reflector on the fender but it does still make me happy that the Headlamps are still Clear!!!

Wow...Do I want a 550i Sport...lol

I am very disappointed that the Facelift for the 08 model E60 did not get the same digital climate controls just like in the E90/91/92 and the new E70 X5. Why oh why must one have to squint around the knob to see what temp we have selected? or why not just make the Temp display pop up on the iDrive Screen ALA E65/66 7-series models? Also how come they didn't add next to the Pre-set buttons for the iDrive the same "mode" and "AM/FM" buttons on the dash just like the E70 and face lifted 7 series E65/66.

It's how about 3% of the improved fuel efficiency is achieved.
