Hello all,
I'm about to replace my tyres on my 172 19" Non Run Flats.
The first choice is the standard Continental 2's. Fittings are;
Front) 245/35 R19 93Y
Rear) 275/30 R19 96Y
I've managed to get a great price on some brand new Conti 2's tyres for ?720. But I've also been told that Bridgestone's are just as good and a bit cheaper.
Has anybody fitted any of these as their replacements?
Your comments would be appreciated.
regards
G

I found it advertised in Roundel and tried it. Kumho ECSTA SPT-Ultra High Performance Tires,H/V/W/Y Speed Rated, comfortable and quiet, and for the right price
. Tire Rack has the best price and selection.

The bridgestones in non RFT format are great tyres, I would be surprised if they were cheaper than the conti's.
Having said that conti are now onto SC3's so they may be clearing stocks of SC2's.
Conti's will probably wear a little faster than the bridgestones, but other than that they are both fine tyres.
Tirerack never rate conti's so beware of thier ratings, you cannot rate what you do not sell.
ADAC the german automobile club did tests on summer tyres, the Bridgestones came out very well.
You will need to use a translation tool to read the page but here it is.

hey mate,
i had the exact same set up with the m172 with the contis. i have changed my rears to goodyear eagle f1
gs d3 and i have to say i am not dissapointed, the tyres are very good very sticky in the dry in the wet i have pushed them and they seem to hold slighty longer than what the conti's ever did i am still running the contis up front but they are due for a change in the next 1000 miles or so and wil probably change to the goodyears up there too
hope this helps

Hi DON,
That was helpful, thanks mate.
So do you use these as your Summer tyres then? As you're all the way up in Glagow and the weather is less forgiving. Do you have a Winter set up too?
Thanks

I stuck with the original RFTs until it was time to replace them, at which point I got the 166 wheels and the Conti 2s: 245/40ZR19 and 275/35ZR19. Ride quality is excellent and very quiet - a huge improvement all around to the RFTs.
Being in Thailand, I did not have much of a choice when it came to tyre manufacturer, but having used Contis before on another vehicle, I went with those.
Cheers!
