Tyre (Tire) Wear

My Ride: 525D, Silver Grey, Bluetooth, CD Changer
I have standard 525D with 16 inch wheels, normal tyres. Car has done 22K miles - mainly between 70 and 90MPH on UK motorways (or completely stationary for long periods on UK Motorway!!)
I checked the tyres the other day and noticed the following:
Front - perfect - not much sign of wear
Rear - at first glance - not much wear - on closer inspection I noted significant wear in the centre part of tyre - very little wear on the edges.
Suspecting over inflation I checked the pressures which were almost exactly those identifed in the door sticker. If anything they were slightly less.
I usually drive alone with little luggage
Anyone else experience this?
