Tyre puncture warning function ^&*&&%
Had a tyre puncture warning signal while driving on a motorway a couple of days ago, was honestly surprised that it showed no info as to which tyre exactly was damaged. so i stopped to check that out but visually there were no signs, drove another 15 miles to the nearest service point and only there after proper examinatin the guys found a screw in one of the wheels. My point is, WTF were great Bavarian minds thinking to make this crucially important function so handicapped, even in Peugeot
similar system indicates the exact tyre and here i had to walk around, kicking wheels looking for the puncture (though im not even on run flat ones). Annoying, isn't it?

You can determine which tire is punctured by looking on the TPMS menu ... it even showes you different colour of tires

AFAIK, depending on the MY, the iDrive will tell you which tire is actually damaged. Pre-LCI models have the FTM system, this only tells you there is a loss in pressure but not which one (I might be wrong on this). LCI models have the TPM system and this does tell you which tire has a loss in pressure via iDrive.
nuda and deocool, it helps to include your location and e60 info, as countries and model years differ in functions....
page 95 and 96 of the 2008 manual for further reference...

Sorry i wasnt precise, mine is 2004 (UK market) and im positive it doesnt have the function guys were talking about
I managed 2 flats in 1 weekend recently.
I thought the 2nd flat warning was as a result of the original repair on the 1st flat and could not figure out what was up so went checking all the others before finding out that another wheel was punctured.
It woudl be handy to know the pressures in each tyre on the i-drive.

I think it's a UK spec thing, because I've looked everywhere for the tyre check in I-drive on my 2008 LCI and it does not give any specific details about individual tyres, unlike what the guys in the US have.
If anyone can prove any different, I would be glad to hear, because I think it is poor also. :thumbsdown:
