Tyre pressure / Tramlining

Hi there

I own a bmw e60 2008 m sport package with 245/40/18 tyres.

I currently have 2.4 bar front and rear pressure and have experienced Tramlining.

I came across some info about my car's model with my tyres size:...suppose to be 27 psi (1.9bar) front and 33 psi (2.3 bar) rear.

That seams low to me or is it???

I've been reading that lowering your tyre pressure makes tramlining less noticeable, is that true ???

(wheel alignment is good, nothing wrong with the car, IT ALL HAPPENED WHEN SWITCHING TO SUMMER TYRES - michelin sport pilot 3 ..... I HAD WINTER TYRES AND DIDNT notice any TRAMLINING)

So if someone could give me some advice that will be greatly appreciated. :)

Thank you

This is what i read ,BUT it seems to me that 27 front and 33 rear psi is too low .. Or is it?

My 2006 530xi has 17" and the recommended is 30 front and 36 rear. So, I'm guessing 27/33 is not wrong. It may not be optimal for your problem. BMW also talks about higher pressure for high speed driving, so going up some is ok too. That info is all listed on the driver's door jamb.

Tnx on your prompt reply.
Its weird that I've been reading that there is no solution and people on other forums saying that its normal for those tyres (245/40/18) tramlining on uneven surfaces and that i have to get used to it :/

for the 18s 27/33 is low. I just looked it up in the US manual, and it's supposed to be 32/38 for the 18 square tire setup. What temperature do you experience this in? I have the michelin pilot super sports and I just drove home in 48F w/wind and I had some tramlining. summer tires don't grip really well until the ambient temperature goes above 60 F.
