I have an LCI M Sport that is fitted with the optional 172M 19" Wheels with non RFT's. Does the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System work in the same way as with RFT.
When I got the car the salesman told me that the TPMS only works with RFT's. However, when I go into iDrive I am able to initialise the system and it then states after the initialisation period 'active'. Therefore do I have a functioning TPMS or not?
I have looked in the manual and it does only refer to the TMPS and RFT's, so I'm confused? Surely there is equal need to know if a tyre is deflating whether or not fitted with RFT's?

Yes, my last car (E46 330Ci) also had Tyre Pressure Monitoring with non-RFT's.

Thanks for the replies guys!
It certainly seems to be working, but can't understand why the salesman said it didn't work with non RFT & also why the manual referrs to the TPMS only relating to RFT's? Strange!
