Is the Turbo spooling sound ( whistling sound during gear shifts ) very noticeable on the 535i?
Or did BMW do their best to mute this sound?

Thanks.

I can barely hear it on the 335i. Sucks!

i can hear it from first to second in M when shifting around 4500 very noticably with the windows open. no mistaking that sound. after that, wind noise dominates.

only way you can really hear it is if you put on an open air intake/cone intake, but that will also cause you to lose some performance.

definitely difficult to here with the stock box. when I switched the air filter and installed my jb+ I think I can hear it a bit more, especially when launching from a dig in DS. But I always have my iPod on anyway

how much performance might one lose? is the sound worth the loss. i can deal with 1 or 2 RWHP.
