Turbo Soot - What does it mean?
 

Hi.

Car is 2007 530d LCI.

Recently had a clogged DPF for a while but OK now.

A few issues remain:

Getting blow-by smoke from filler cap.
Oil smell in exhaust.
Turbo a bit whiney.
Exhaust smell in cabin.

Looking at the turbo there is a bit of soot near the actuator arm.

Soot on turbo

Not much free-play in the shaft - seems pretty good really.

Is the soot a cause for concern (is the car about to explode)?
Is it related to the other issues?
