Pjinca, I am glad you did not mention Solely Bimmer in Aliso Viejo! I think Chad pulled a fast one on me a few weeks ago and wanted rip me off some more. He collected $150 for torqueing the spark plugs and swapping the ignition coils; in which I told him I already did because I kept getting the SES, stating I have misfire on cylinder #4. One day after my visit from his shop, the same misfire came back. I emailed and called him about it. I wanted the problem fixed and he said I would have to leave the car at his shop for a couple nights; I told him I would have to rent a car in order to do that. Then, I asked him how much it would cost to pin point exactly what needed to be fixed. He did not want to quote me a price and acted like it would take a least a couple days and his time spent on my car would need to be compensated. At that point, there was no way was I going to waste any more money just so he can waste my time.

Anyways, I ended up going to a BMW Dealer for another diagnostic test (another $161) and in less than an hour, they told me one of the three wires that are connected to cylinder #4 ignition coil connector is exposed because the insulation to that wire was broken.

Hence, I just wanted to point out how important it is to have a good mechanic who knows what he is doing. And don't pay until you have a written warranty for the problem brought upon for a real fix!

EF1 Autosport in Signal Hill is great. They specialize in European cars. I take my car there to do services since I'm past the warranty.
