What year & model car? What country are you in? What is "soft close"?

Not sure what you are refering to either. I have an 08 550i and my trunk needs a pretty good slam to close it.

I didnt know they had that for the trunk... its like the soft door close? When you dont have to slam the trunk close but just lower it to closing point and it'll close itself shut

Just slam that sucker like the rest of us do! Soft close? Hmmmmm.....doesn't ring a bell to me on the E60.

Mid '80's camaro's had this. My wife had one when she was in HS, and her hatch slammed shut one time, and the soft close didn't work anymore...had to get a new motor or whatever pulls it shut.

Here's a soft close driver's door

Is the car still under warranty? If so, make it the dealer's problem!

I also didn't know that was on e60 option.

My buddy's CTS has this on the trunk. Nice feature, but def just a luxury item. Not necessary by any means.
