ok family so today trunk wouldn't open with comfort access so I used the key. Trying to close the trunk would not happen turned the car on I heard humming from the latch, so post workout brain tells me to pull the emergency release that didn't help . So question is would emergency release block trunk from closing? As it will not retract, I unplugged the latch and it opens and closes with key

2006 525i I looked at some of these vids but don't replicate the symptoms, I did look at the wires but seem to be intact and do not want to unravel all that just to find I a wire, but I did order the lock actuator and will be picking it up today to see if that is the problem if not then I will dig into the electrical. thank you for your input.
