Trunk Lid
#1
Why do I have to press the key three or four times to make my trunk lid open? And, to further complicate matters, sometimes my alarm goes off during this process.
It's patently unsophisticated, and VERY annoying.
Thanks for the input.

Hmmm... I find that if I hold down the trunk release button for about 3 seconds it always works - the first time. Sometimes a quick push will do it, but more often I need to hold it down for about 3 seconds. Being a Realtor I am always in my trunk. I have also noticed that the "Samurai Trunk" effect calms down with use.

We've had this problem too. It only happens with my key. It takes exactly 3 pushes of the button to open the trunk. A longer push doesn't open it. A long push sets off the alarm. 2 longer pushes doesn't open it. It is always 3 short pushes to open the trunk. It drives me nuts, but the dealer swears it is normal. The trunk always opens with the first short push with the other key.

Here's a link to a thread where this was discussed before. It's clear that there's an "art" to getting the trunk to open consistently!
Hope that one of these days they'll fix this via software...

I manage to open the trunk lid with by pressing and holding the button in 95% of the total atempts...
I also have to agree with Rudy. It needs a special touch to open the trunck... On some cars, of course...
