When putting the seats back up, they will not engage. Is there something else that I should be doing besides slamming them back up. I've tried doing it gently, forcefully, nothing works...

Nevermind. I got it too lock but "firm hand" is an understatement with car. I had to slam the cr@p out of it. I don't think it should be that hard...seriously, I was afraid I was going to break the bracket because I was slamming it so hard.

I don't recall having to slam it hard enough to worry me about something breaking. If you think something is not right, you might want to have it checked out.

Anyone else miss the little red indicators that the E39 had that told you if the seat wasn't properly latched?

I'm with Rudy, mine doesn't take that much effort. Surely if a 140lb girl can shut it without effort, you guys can too unless the catches need to be adjusted on your car.

I have had the same problem with a car at the dealership once. No matter how hard I slammed the seats back they wouldn't engage the latch.

My own car works just fine. Not a problem at all to put the folding seats back in position.

I would get it checked out at the dealer next time you are there. It shouldn't be that hard.
