I have a 04-545i with nav. I've noticed a wood panel (trim piece) on the 05's that I would like to install in my car. It is the piece just above the seat heat switches. (On the non-nav cars, there is a cubby in this piece) Mine is currently black to match my interior and would like to make it wood to match my trim. Also, Anyone know the colors available for wood trim? I need a prt number for the wood trim. I think there was only one color available for the 04-545i. Thanks

Its a lot of work and quite costly... but is do-able.

part was roughly $150 and an hour install for another $80-$90. Vastly improves the look, money well spent in my opinion. Did mine several months back, along with e brake handle and gear shift knob...

Thanks .......I had actually saved a copy of the realOEM.com diagram. My only question now is...what color is my wood trim. I was under the impression that there was only one color available for 04. I have the original window sticker, but it dosen't state the color.

Trev, it may seem like a lot, but the cheap plastic they used in the '04s was pretty bad. It was worth the money to me.

tnjet: the parts come in either dark poplar or anthracite (sp).

Super....thanks for the information. Must be the Dark Poplar. I'll order today. Thanks again.

BTW...great forum. I have owned most all sorts of sport cars in the past and found the BMW crowd to be the most helpful.
