My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets.
First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.
Hi All,
I'm tempted to call Bavarian Autosport Saturday morning and order the Tri-Flow exhaust for my car. Their sale on it ends tomorrow. I've gone back throught the threads here, and except for the recent "for sale" offering of one (that I now can't locate), it seems that everyone is fairly pleased with the setup and sound.
I've never messed with exhausts (although my old TR3 had an Abarth...) but want more bass/balls; right now the air intake is the loudest performance sound I get in the cabin. Pat at Bav Auto advises me that the later TriFlows have been toned down so that there is less "noise" at 1500-2000 rpm. Anyone have direct experience with this?
I figure the $80 off might cover installation with my local repair shop. And I would guess that B & B is higher qualtiy than Remus...comments before COB Saturday?? Any reason for warranty worry?
Cheers/All Ears,
Ray Hull

2007 550i 6-spd----> Premium package, sport package, Logic7, heated everything, Rogue Engineering SSK, CDV removal, hardwire V1 install, aFe cold air intake, Custom Magnaflow exhaust....
Hey Ray,
I just got the same exact exhaust 2 weeks ago. One advice is that there is ALOT of resonation, but mine was exceptionally bad cause i took the resonators off. Also another concern that I read about it somewhere in the forum was about the exhaust hanging low and to solve this simple problem simply tell your muffler shop to change to rubber hanger (rubber piece that hangs your exhaust) to a shorter one and there should be no other problems.
Rather than Remus...have you thought about eisenmann or kelleners sport?? In my car, I notice the resonation from 1-2K rpm but it gets much quieter after that, esp. once u go past 4000 rpms. Just to let you know...
Have fun...its a Mod thats definitely worth the money

Good luck on making your decision. All those exhausts are great.

One thing I don't understand...AC Schnitzer exhaust is made by supersprint....is there a difference between the two or is the price premium only centered on the fact that one is buying the schnizer brand name?? Same goes to Hamann exhausts made by SS...

I personally think it's just the branding. The performance gains shouldn't be any different, only cosmetics.
Oh, and I think you already know this, but Eisenmann makes Kelleners.

Since when did *you* become an exhaust expert?
Thanks for the exhaust lesson. I'm in the market for getting one too so all exhaust info is welcomed!
Hey Ray,
Let us know which one you finally decide on, and what you think.
Cheers!

Shoot, I just remembered, Dinan doesn't make an exhaust for the 530 yet. Only for the 545 and 550. Sorry CoolTones. But once you pick an exhaust, I can check with CarLab to see if they can get you a good price.
