If I drive for at least 10 feet, then brake, then put in reverse I get really strong kick from the transmission as if I was front-ended.
If I switch to neutral first, then to reverse - everything's normal.
Anybody experienced something like that? Should I be concerned or it's just another glitch?
My car's 550i LCI.

Are your engine rpm's high (above 700-800 rpm) when you shift into reverse and experience the slam? Maybe deliberately shifting into "N" first allows your engine to slow down. I have a 530 and can't say that I experience this situation even when I 'rush' a shift from D to R ... but the V-8 may behave differently. You definitely do not want to have this happen regularly or over time something will let loose.

RPMs are fine, 500-600 when I stop car with AC off, and it does not change when put in neutral, may be increase slightly by 20-30.
