transmission slam

Thanks Batman, yes you are correct, when shifting slow from R to D no clunk. I will still have dealer check this out when I go in first service, unless it gets worse, then will go sooner.

Does the transmission slam infrequently? I had an E39 that used to slam between 1st and 2nd and it took me two years to figure it out, because it always did it in a certain spot on the freeway that was sloped and always bumper to pumper. So it only did it when it was on a slope. It was worse on very slight slopes and on steep slopes it did it, but but not as much.
The dealer could never find the problem because they always tested on flat surfaces. When i figured it was on slopes they replaced the whole tranny...thank goodness for CPO.
