Transmission Range sensor/circuit performance range

Hi Guys, so I did a big mistake. I lent out my car to a friend and when he arrive to the garage it didnt want to turn back on. On the I Drive it noted Transmission Range senor/circuit performance Range, I dont know what the hell that means but hopefully he didnt brake anything expensive on it. Well it has been at the shop for Two days now and they can't detect it. Has anyone heard of this.
