Hi to all!

When I use the DS mode, there's no problem when I do the shifting manually , but as soon as the car goes to a full stop it stays on 3rd gear. Is this a transmission issue? I tried the 25 second reset but still no luck. Any input is pretty much appreciated. Thank you!

When shifting manually and at a stop I can put the car into first or second gear.

I can do that too down shift to 2nd gear or 1st gear, but I know normally that it will go back to second gear automatically when you're at stop, but mine doesn't, it stays on 3rd.

Can't this be because you have enough tork to pull away in 3th.??..my 523 goed to M2 at full stop and I can downshift manually to 1st, but this is not necessary for the car...Actually it rides better pulling away in M2...

This is normal.

The steptronic in manual mode with downshift to the highest gear that the car's torque can support, in the case of a V8 M3, and and I6 M2. You can always manually downshift to override this.

They probably did this for gas mileage purposes.

This is normal, and will happen if you forget to downshift while coming to a stop. There is enough torque to go from fully stopped on 3rd gear.

Remember, you can put it in 1st *or 2nd) if you choose to.

Thanks a lot for all the reply! I thought it wasn't normal for V8 to stay on 3rd at full stop. So, V8 on M3 and I6 on M2! I got it now.
