DIY people - has anyone used any other Transmission oil without any issues in there E60 Auto apart from BMW oil (which basically is Shell M-1375.4). If yes, can you please contribute the brand and type of oil.

I just reasently had this issue up , please see : https://5series.net/forums/topic/125...tc-gear-boxes/ I have ended up with using the Mobil LT71141 ( 1/3 the price of Shell M-1375.4/ZF-Lifeguard 6 ) , and so far with out any problems :) Kind Regards BenAnd |

Have just purchased 20 Litre of Mobil LT71141 ( with prod. date 05-2012 ) so I can't imagne that it is "obsolete" , look at E-bay and you will see it can still be purchased with out any problems from several suppliers/sellers. Kind Regards BenAnd |

shops use redline for higher torque applications like 535, 550 etc... for little 2.5 or 3.0 I would run the others

If you talk to ZF there is no substitute. For a couple hundred bucks why take a chance.
