Default Transmission fluid

I have a 2010 528i and I'm going to change the transmission fluid.

How many quarts will actually come out?

I'd like to measure exactly how much came out, what is the best method?

What is a good transmission fluid to buy?

Thanks,

Approximately 7 quarts for a refill. Ford Mercon SP fluid is a match for that tranny at about $6.50 per quart from the dealership.

Here's a good thread to walk you through everything.

Thanks.

The URL to the thread mentioned you have to monitor the transmission fluid temperature and fill it at a certain temperature.

Do you agree?

Yes there is a fill procedure with BMWs. If you do not follow the fill procedure you can potentially have issues.
