Transm. Failsafe mode !!!! Not fully recovered
I had my E60 in trans failsafe mode and was refusing to engage gears , then ordered sleeve connect and seal kit also change all solenoids and oil pan.
Now the car is moving changing all gears but, you can feel it engage, like abnormally, even the change down when you about to stop. It is not banging wildly into and out of gears. Neutral to drive and drive to neutral, you literally feel it engage and like it give a slight shock to the car. Gear Changes are not as smooth as it use to be, and the down changes specially into first just when you about to stop.
Can anyone assist or did had similar issues.
Kindest regards

Maybe you just need to reset the transmission adaptation. Here is an excellent write up from 5 years ago covering the same service you performed, to enclude the adaptation.

Good luck with the process. If you don't have the BMW software, then you can purchase Carly for BMW that is a smart phone app for both iOS and Android phone/pads, available through your iOS or Android App Store.

I just want to add a little
If you are unable to reset the computer it will slowly work it out itself
It takes a little while for the computer to work out the way you drive with the new parts you have fitted but it will do it
Soon the hard changes will disappear but it could take a few weeks of normal driving
Good luck
