You won't like it. The TL is very bland just like Honda. It's drive/handleing is boring, soft and non-spirited. The engine power is good, but what's the use if it's handling is so boring.

+1, have to agree here. I like lots of other cars other than bmw. most support on this forum will obviously be for the e60 but if you get a deal and you like it go for it, or keep both. I sold my audi after getting a 550 and im wishing i'd kept it, putting way too many miles on the bmw these days

I had a 2003 TL Type-S before getting my Bimmer. That TL had a phenomenal sport-tuned engine for its day with a properly matched transaxle to go with it (even though it had a 3rd gear defect recall). I moved on to a Bimmer to experience RWD and still miss that car. The TL's stock suspension and energy-mizer tires didn't cut it, so I installed a Tein coilover system and summer tires. The car drove very lively after that. And for a 260HP FWD setup, it never torque-steered.

Honda's engines are bulletproof and that 3.7 is a beast as well. They can make some very good FWD cars and the SH-AWD setup received rave reviews from many. But I do agree the 4th-gen TL is grotesque.

That's exactly why I kept my 02 Jetta even tho my wife crashed it last month, I decided to get it fix quick so I don't have to put so many miles on my ride

Before anything, test drive and let us know what you like/dislike about the TL. It will be informative to other members.

You will have to sacrifice the driving experience, but TL comes with nice gadgets, comfortable ride, and reliability.

I had a lot cars included Lexus, Acura, Infinity, but after all BMW I may to buy Benz. Funny, all TL, ES, G are all feeling almost same, soft not responding steering. You can try Audi. I heard they got better I had A4 S it was ok, but interior electrical was crap.
Also instead buying all these cars (BMW, Acura, Lexus....), go and get Porsche Cayenne, what a car, yes I know it's SUV, but my God it handles like a car, but better then my 550, I tell you. The used one should be not be more then 40K

It's got to be the S or the Turbo, I know there's a huge price gap, but they're almost totally different cars (the Base versus S versus Turbo/GTS).

But it's still an SUV..... 80 percent of the drivers are soccer mom's....
