Whats up guys!? I am thinking of trading in my E60 for a F10. My E60 has 46k miles, premium package, cold weather package and is in flawless condition. Of course if they low ball me then I would keep the E60 and just get a F10 2-3 years from now. Edmunds TMV is $22k for dealer trade in. I am hoping to get $23k-$24k. Is that reasonable? I see my car with similar miles going for $29k-$30k at the dealers.

Thoughts?

Are you talking 528 for 528? Is so, then it wouldn't be worth it to me. If you go to a 535 or 550 and you have plenty of $$, then definitely.

I would take it to Carmax for an appraisal. They appraise at a pretty good value from my experience compared to dealers. If the dealer low-balls you, you can present the carfax appraisal and tell them to match or beat it as you can always go back and sell the car at Carmax. Just a thought...

Stick with an e60! the e60, the F458 and the RS5 are the only cars on the market that have character and look good. F10 just looks like a 7 series and we all know how stupid and ugly they look.

+1! I've heard that the consensus among many automotive industry insiders and journalists is the E60 is among the last of the "true" BMWs--because beginning with the F10, et al, BMW has become focused on going after and "being more like" Mercedes Benz. They've lost the plot and forsaken their unique character. A pity.

Assuming you are getting a 2012 model, no way in the world I would trade a straight-six for a turbo-four. If you have the $$$ better to go after a 535 or 550.

Hey man,

I love the F10, but I agree with everyone. If I was to trade, I'd get a 535 or above. Heck, maybe even a used F10 535 if you can find one.

I've driven the f10 528, not even the same car as e60 528. 8 speed 240hp, decent torque for that motor.
great mpg too.

An F10 looks like a 7 series ? I don't think so.. Not even close in my opinion.. Besides the 550i can be tuned to 500hp something you can't even come close with the E60.. I still love the E60, but i wish i was able to get that much power gain

Had two E60's and was bit nervous moving on to an F10...loving it and would not go back!
