My Ride: 2013 M5 - Sakhir Orange / Black Leather.

Was coming out of downtown Pittsburgh this morning, merging onto Bigelow Blvd from the right at a point where another road merges from the left. Grandma was in the left lane at the merge point and decides she's going to go directly into the rigtht lane. Of course that's where I am. I see here coming over and lay on the horn. She pulls back and I do a "wow, that was close" and kept going. Certianly didn't hear or feel a thing - window was open. Anyway, a few miles up the road, where it was safe, decidied I'd pull over and confirm all was well. It isn't. Left rear door and wheel arch must have every so slightly touched her bumper. Certianly no metal on metal occured. Luckily only scratches in the clear coat. Door no problem - bruch marks will buff out easily. My body guy (was only two blocks from the BMW dealer. so swung by) is going to come to my house tomorrow night and try to work out the wheel arch scratches. He thinks he can get it fairly close to perfect. If not, off to the booth.

The amazing thing is how well I am handling this given how particular I am about my stuff - especially my car. BTW, didn't get grandma's plate b/c I didn't think we touched so it'll all end up coming out of my pocket.

It's actually ALL YOUR FAULT! Aside from being a Grandma, she was a woman, so you are expected to read her mind when she thinks...."I hope that young man didn't feel me hit his car!" At least my wife and Mother-in-Law expect me to read theirs! Good Luck with the (minor) repairs!

Too funny.

Went down at lunch with a wet towel and cleaned it up to assess the damage without dirt clouding the view. Not so bad. Will hit it with the polisher tonight and see how good I can get it. Worse case is the left rear quarter panel will need to be re-cleared. PITA, but I don't have a lot to complain about in life so what the hell.
