When you loose traction the cluster light comes on then goes off. You don't get an idrive error.

Maybe a connector issue ... look for any that may have been "overcome" with water from heavy rain. Something like (iDrive alert) that happened to me about 2 years ago after a very long drive in heavy rain, lots of puddles, etc. Went away as quickly as it came and hasn't returned since. My car was inspected by the dealer sine then and there was never a trace of stored code etc. They suspected that one of the many connectors may have gotten a trace of moisture - enough to trigger but so little that it evaporated and that was that!

No matching error symptom Test conditions fulfilled Error not present now, but already stored Error would cause a warning lamp to light up
Error code: 5E BA A0 02 0F 45 92 00 1E 08 ================================================== ===========
My friend says if I get the code again in the next little while, look into changing the steering angle sensor. If not, not to worry about it. He said e39's and z3's are known to throw these randomly then go away.
On another note. It looks like I might have a DISA problem.
