No,

Please note your car will have a 'salvage title' attached to it if the insurance considers it a total loss.

Your car will also have no resale value once it is considered salvaged.

Take the money and just get another E60 if you really want to keep one in the family.

Move on ... insurance companies are very careful about throwing good money after bad and they likely know that a comprehensive repair of your car exceeds their threshold ... therefore chose to total the car.

At the outside chance you could find an indy shop to "patch it up" you're still stuck with a salvage title that will greatly diminish the value of the car down the road. And it's been my personal experience that no matter how skilled the repair shop a wreck is still a wreck (even when you can't see it).

Move on!

Health Services is totally correct! I would let them total it and buy another one. It would be really hard for you to sell if you ever decided to. I would never buy a "SALVAGED" car. Good luck! Let us know what happens, B

I had a very similar situation two weeks ago when a tree fell on my E39 on my way to work. I haggled with the insurance company and agonized over what I felt was a salvageable car. Ultimately, I went with the advice from friends who know me well to move on and get another Bimmer. Now I have an '07 530xi that I love.

It's a very emotional decision, especially if you're in love with the car, but having the stigma of a salvage title if you decide to buy back the car isn't worth it. Take the advice to move on from one who knows what you're going through.

Write it off and get a new one. All the suspension is aluminum and impossible to tell if it has been bent. From the looks of it you damaged all four corners of the suspension, possible rim damage, tire damage, etc. Enjoy your new ride when you get it.

You have a buyer for a tranny and engine in mind? If so I'll part my running car out.
