I will get my new 530iA in about three weeks. :D As the BMW geek I am, I wonder what is the actually top speed of the 530 with the 258 hp engine? I have seen movies when it does 260 km/h ... Anyone who has reached this speed? My 530iA model 2002 have the top speed about 247 km/h. Is it any difference on the new model concerning the top speed with or without the msport package?

I have done 260 AND I WAS ASTONISHED! I didn't think a diesel was capable of such a thing AND i didn't think the limiter wouldn't work, hey a limiter is a limiter, the car skipped 250 without too much fuss AND i stayed at 260 forabout 10-15 seconds and saw that the rev needle moved 200-300 rpms a bit more. So no words about what the sensation was...anyway i then backed off cuz if the radar got me at that speed than i would be banned for 3 months :nono:

Oh yes, sometimes I do reach 260 Km/h.

I have the 258hp USA version and I hit 150mph the other night, here in the US. Unfortunately, there were other cars on the road so I had to slow down. If it weren't for the other cars and for the limiter (which I hadn't hit) the car felt like it had a lot more in it...what an amazing feeling.
