That's a real helpful post. Sounds like maybe you were in high school quite recently.

For the OP, here's a bunch of reviews on the Eagle GT's. They look like they are pretty decent tires.

That would be my guess. Probably ought to look out for him!

What kind of tires do you have on your car now? Are you going from run-flats to all-season tires?

Have runflat potenzas. I really am OK with them, however, in the mid-future I am looking to get new wheels 19" or 20" and thus need new tires. Run flats are too crazy expensive.

Yea, thanks. I have the Potenzas (RE050's) too and am looking to replace them eventually so I was interested in your post. I drove over a pothole in mine which caused a large bubble in the 2 tires on that side. Had them replaced under my tire/wheel insurance and the cost for 2 was over $900 (included balancing and mounting by BMW). I have considered the Goodyears, Yokohamas, and also Continental's. I have the Continentals on another BMW and so far, they have been great All-Season tires. My Sales Manager had them on his BMW and highly recommended them.

Check out the Goodyear F1 GS-D3. It's essentially a German tire, designed and I believe, made there. Don't quote me on the second part, but the first part is correct. I've been running them exclusively for the last 4-5 years on the E39 as well as the Vette. IMO they're one of the best handling street tires available. The downside is the tire life. I'm averaging 16K miles for this softer compound tire, but it's doing what it's designed for...keeping the vehicle glued to the road under any condition.

I had contis on my mercedes E and they SUCKED! 1 flake, tires didn't move. Also, wore out in 22k miles. Worst tires ever. Plus, they are quite ugly IMO
